Ok, I'm posting this video from a week ago, or so, but at this point, Ezra is pretty much running around the apartment. I am completely serious. He's been walking about four weeks. The first week, he took a few steps. The second week, it was up to 8 steps or so -- walking from one piece of furniture to another. By the third week, he was walking around the entire apartment without falling down. And now that it's the fourth week -- he's essentially running places. He only falls if he trips on something (like the rug or a toy he's left around). We can't believe how fast he's learned. Here's the video from last week... we'll try to get a more updated one soon...

walking videos
Ez has really started moving quicker. He can walk across rooms without falling, even at a good clip. Of course, he does still flop a lot.

A few pictures from the weekend

Feeding himself with a spoon
It's been a messy learning process, but this week Ezra really started being able to feed himself with a spoon while actually getting some food into his mouth (and some other places). This video captures it pretty well!
He's walking!!
Ezra took a single step about a month ago, and we've seen him take an occasional step or two very sporadically in the past month. But yesterday, he took three or four steps in a row a couple of times, and today he took between four and eight steps about a dozen times! He's off! Here are a few of our attempts to catch his attempts on camera. He makes the cutest proud squinty-eyed smile. It's great to see him so proud and thrilled with his new skill!

Bubbles!
Ezra is picking up more and more words. His latest -- bubbles! It's been quite amazing watching him learn how to communicate.

Halloween Hound

For Halloween, Ezra learned to say "doggie" just in time to dress up like a hound named Fido, apparently. He didn't learn to say "monkey" in time, though he had a second costume for the morning's colder weather (fortunate accident). It was a very busy holiday -- with playground friends and trick-or-treating twice and a neighbor's backyard party. Here are some pictures that capture the feel of the day.

Happy First Birthday, Little Man!

Wow -- We can't believe it's been a whole year since Ezra was born. It's been such a wonderful amazing year, and I'm so glad that Noah and I haven't yet screwed him up! We are just so in love with our son, and it is such a joy watching him explore the world every day. We love you Ezra! Happy birthday! Here are a few pictures from Ezra's first birthday party.

Ten Months
It's been a busy few weeks. Second tooth has come in. Ezra stands up in the crib all the time, which has kind of interfered with his sleep. He crawls at the speed of light now -- especially when we open the fridge or the dishwasher -- he appears out of nowhere wanting to crawl right in! (We don't let him, don't worry). He's also starting to eat more with his hands, and eating more of the same types of foods we eat, although he still is eating softer foods like bread, fruit, egg yolks, and well steamed veggies. He's also making new sounds. He's started saying uh-oh all the time! It's pretty cute. And he loves to bring his hand to his mouth and wack his mouth or rub his lips with his finger to make funny sounds. Here's a few recent pics!

Ezra's favorite book
This video shows me reading Ezra's favorite book: "Jungle Tumble". Not sure exactly why he loves this one in particular -- but it is a pretty cool book.

Nine and a half months
Today we confirmed that Ezra's first tooth has finally arrived... only 4 months after I started saying it was "coming within the next week."
He quickly crawls around the apartment and grabs everything he can reach. He doesn't rest for a second. He is in constant motion. And he's been quite a chatterbox recently.

Mom on vacation
So of course, as soon as Mom goes on vacation for a weekend, Ezra starts to ask for her... a lot.
Childproofing
I suppose it was time to childproof our apartment. Here's a (documentary) video showing that we did it just in time.

Pictures from May and June
Here is a quick bunch of pictures from the last month. I am sorry that we didn't get them out quicker, and I am sure I missed some good ones, but here's a sampling. Also: for some reason, they are in reverse chronological order, so check them out from the bottom first...

Rach and I couldn't resist taking this picture (check out the slogan on the box):

Brookline pool party!

Dressed up to be on our way to Rachel's reunion, and then to Papa's 90th birthday party

Here's The Ez with his Uncle G-Force.
This picture doesn't capture at all the fact that Ezra absolutely LOVED Oliver, the cute dog in this one. Sadly, a mishap with the videocamera caused us to lose a wonderful video of Steve and Claire playing fetch with Oliver, while Ezra laughed and laughed. I think it was the best laugh I've ever seen from him. I think we're going to have to get a dog some day...

These next two great pictures were taken by our friend Renee at a brunch on the bay, just before we headed to the airport to fly to the East Coast:
