A Sommovilla July!

What a great July it's been! Bobby Susie came to visit for 3 weeks, and Uncle Josh came out for a few days too during a rare break from his residency. Nili came across the bay to join in the fun as well, and we had a great visits with family.

Arlo's first smile!

Today, Arlo gave three huge smiles in a row to his big brother Ezra -- his first! Ezra climbed into the big chair with mommy and Arlo, and gave Arlo a big smile. Arlo's face then spread into a huge grin and he gave Ezra a giant smile back in return -- his first! Bobby Susie was totally right, because yesterday she kept saying that Arlo was much more awake and alert the last few days and was starting to smile! He gave Ezra three giant smiles in a row, and there is no doubt now that these are real social smiles:)
Another tidbit from Hellavilla life -- a few minutes before this happened, Ezra was telling me* that next time he visits Dr Franks (his pediatrician), she is going to turn him back into a baby and put him in mommy's belly again. Don't need a child psychologist to analyze that one, although while Ez shows that he is missing the attention a bit of being a baby, he is doing such a great job adjusting to big brother life. Also, Ezra informed me that not only was he going back into my belly, but that he was bringing Woody and Buzz Lightyear with him. I told him that there was no room there for a party:)

Ezra's conversation with his toy beeper

Ezra's construction tool belt comes with a toy beeper. This morning, he held the beeper up to his ear like a phone, after it beeped him, and had the following conversation:
"Oh, yes, yes, I have a baby in my belly. [Pause]. Yes, yes. OK, bye bye."
"Oh yes, yes, do you know where my other puzzle is? [Pause]. Yes. Yes. Yes. OK, bye bye."

Happy July 4!

It's been a beautiful July, and we've been enjoying the warm weather with our beautiful boys. Grandma and Grandpa just left town at the end of June, but Bobby Susie is here now and we've been having tons of fun. To celebrate our nation's birth, on the 4th of July, Arlo rolled over from tummy to back, and Ezra made his first #2 on the potty! Here are a few pics of the boys -- as you can see, Arlo is enjoying taking in his new surroundings, and Ezra is enjoying learning how to pee on the potty and using his new shaving kit from Auntie Chhaya.
