We braved the 90 degree heat and humidity to visit the zoo with Bobby and the boys. What a great decision, because it was relatively shady there and Arlo slept in the shade of his stroller comfortably almost the whole time. We saw ostriches, lion, snow leopard, the gibbon with her new baby, the orangutan daddy who likes to walk around with a sheet on his head, and we walked through the aviary to see birds close up. Ezra of course took the requisite train ride with me -- very fun, even though we just circled around a fountain. Highlight had to be, however, "Grunt" the male tortoise and his mate. It was mating season. Due to technical difficulties, I can't yet download the video we took of Grunt and Ezra imitating his mating sounds, but trust me, it was pretty hilarious.
